I'm Kristine Hegrehagen, an illustrator and artist based on the west coast of Norway.

My background is in fashion, where I worked with patterns and prints for clothing. This took me from Amsterdam to Los Angeles and New York, where I spent 12 years working, exploring different ideas, and developing my own creative style. Eventually, I moved back to Norway and began collaborating with an international art publisher.

My work draws inspiration from people, nature, and decorative patterns, often moving between figurative and abstract forms. I enjoy exploring colour, shape, and texture, combining bold, expressive brushstrokes with softer lines and organic shapes. There is often a playful element to my paintings, and I like to leave room for spontaneity and unexpected details. I aim to create work that feels contemporary and expressive, with a sense of warmth.
